"I had never
done
Model UN before Yale and UNCSY served as a bridge into MUN, YIRA and
the wider international relations community at Yale. It showed me how
fun Model UN was!" - Ferny,
YMUN XXXV Director-General
About UNCSY
UNCSY is a one-day long Model United Nations conference hosted by the Yale International Relations Association. Outside of the Model UN Team at Yale, UNCSY is the only forum for MUN participation at Yale. The conference is staffed and managed by members of YIRA. UNCSY is completely free and funded by Yale University.
The conference will take place on Saturday, 25th Sept. 2010. Like SCSY, UNCSY is a conference heavily driven by intense, real-time crises, which challenge delegates to think on their feet and adapt to rapidly-changing situations. Committees have included a simulation of the International Atomic Energy Agency, the Harry Potter Ministry of Magic, and a Model Organization of American States. UNCSY also places strong emphasis on the delegate social experience, and the conference is followed by a highly-anticipated staff and delegate social!
UNCSY is sponsored by the MacMillan Center.
About YIRA
The Yale International Relations Association, Inc. was founded in 1969 and has since grown into one of the largest student organizations at Yale University. Our mission is to organize a wide range of programs and initiatives aimed at furthering knowledge of and debate on international relations and global affairs at Yale and in the wider community. With 800 members hailing from over 30 countries and virtually all courses of study, our membership is highly diverse, with each member bringing his or her own unique perspective on international affairs to the organization.
YIRA members form a close-knit community, and social activities are
organized throughout the year, including YIRA’s Spring and Fall
